Isatis Indigotica
Ecologically Grown

This small, quick growing plant produces yellow flowers and leaves that are pungent and mustardy. The roots, which are harvested after one year of growth, smell distinctly of the mustard/broccoli family to which they are related.

Traditionally the leaves have also been used as a blue dye source, particularly in regions where it is too cold to grow indigo.
