This annual herb is native to China and can reach 8 feet tall by 4 feet wide. During harvest season waves of Sweet Annie can easily overwhelm our processing center with this pungently sweet aroma.
It is a carefree grower is potentially invasive through self-seeding if not harvested. Therefore, we harvest this plant when it is in bud/flower stage to ensure that its invasive tendencies do not take hold on our grower farms. We take great care to harvest this plant before it goes to seed not only to avoid its invasive tendencies, but also to harvest during it’s peak potency.
